I was bought Lily Vanilli in ‘A Zombie Ate My Cupcake’ about 6 years ago and as Halloween is approaching I’ve finally found time to make a few of the cakes from it. Perfect for some spooky treats for my friends in the office.
All the cakes are Guinness cupcakes with a cream cheese frosting but they each have their own macabre detailing. The Sweeney Todd cupcakes are made to look like a pie, with a marzipan finger poking out. I made the glass shards using a basic sugar caramel recipe and just used some raspberry jam for the blood. Both of these are from Lili Vanilli’s book, the pumpkins are something I made up myself.
